Alexander Ellman represents and advises clients regarding estate planning and probate matters, including South Dakota trust formation, wills preparation, and conservator and guardianship proceedings. Alex also helps clients with a variety of general corporate matters, including leases, contracts, mergers and acquisitions, and the formation and management of South Dakota limited liability companies and non-profit organizations.

Alex is a senior non-commissioned officer in the United States Army Reserve, and he instructs nuclear, biological, and chemical warfare operations at the U.S. Army Chemical School. Prior to joining the firm, Alex was a veteran police officer in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Experience
  • Assisted small business owners, farmers, and private clients develop meaningful estate plans to maximize estate and gift tax exemptions and facilitate smooth ownership and management succession.
  • Helped beneficiaries safeguard their interests by obtaining supervised court administration and addressing trustee mismanagement of assets and breach of fiduciary duties.
  • Formed limited liability companies and special entities for South Dakota businesses and trustees seeking liability protection. 
  • Obtained 501(c)(3) status for various nonprofit charitable organizations by ensuring qualification for and maintaining tax-exempt status.

Search Tips:

You may use the wildcard symbol (*) as a root expander.  A search for "anti*" will find not only "anti", but also "anti-trust", "antique", etc.

Entering two terms together in a search field will behave as though an "OR" is being used.  For example, entering "Antique Motorcars" as a Client Name search will find results with either word in the Client Name.

Operators

AND and OR may be used in a search.  Note: they must be capitalized, e.g., "Project AND Finance." 

The + and - sign operators may be used.  The + sign indicates that the term immediately following is required, while the - sign indicates to omit results that contain that term. E.g., "+real -estate" says results must have "real" but not "estate".

To perform an exact phrase search, surround your search phrase with quotation marks.  For example, "Project Finance".
