Alison Ovenden represents and advises owners, investors, retailers, landlords, tenants and developers on a range of commercial and residential real estate transactions. She has experience with the acquisition, disposition, leasing, financing and development of real property for office, retail, industrial, and single and multi-family residential use. Specifically, Alison’s real estate practice includes drafting and negotiating leasing documents, purchase agreements and loan documents; conducting real estate due diligence; analyzing and resolving title, land use, zoning and environmental issues; and closing transactions.

Alison also assists clients with a variety of commercial transactions, including the sale, acquisition, reorganization, merger, and financing of both public companies and private equity funds. Alison also assist clients with general corporate issues ranging from entity formation to contract drafting and regulatory compliance.

  • Represented a top commercial real estate development and investment firm in the acquisition of multiple unimproved real estate properties for industrial development.
  • Represented a Dallas-based real estate development, investment and operations company in the acquisition of commercial properties in Minnesota and Wisconsin for mixed-use redevelopment.
  • Represented farm operator in the formation of a new entity for the development, management and operation of state-of-the-art swine production facility.
  • Represented a Minneapolis-based nonprofit organization in the purchase of a piece of commercial property, and the subsequent initial title registration proceedings, including the negotiation of a settlement and drafting of a purchase agreement with an unwilling neighbor.
  • Represented a Minneapolis-based nonprofit organization in the drafting and negotiating of easement agreements with the City of Minneapolis for successful completion of a low-income housing development.

Search Tips:

You may use the wildcard symbol (*) as a root expander.  A search for "anti*" will find not only "anti", but also "anti-trust", "antique", etc.

Entering two terms together in a search field will behave as though an "OR" is being used.  For example, entering "Antique Motorcars" as a Client Name search will find results with either word in the Client Name.

Operators

AND and OR may be used in a search.  Note: they must be capitalized, e.g., "Project AND Finance." 

The + and - sign operators may be used.  The + sign indicates that the term immediately following is required, while the - sign indicates to omit results that contain that term. E.g., "+real -estate" says results must have "real" but not "estate".

To perform an exact phrase search, surround your search phrase with quotation marks.  For example, "Project Finance".
