Jessica Meyer assists clients in all aspects of business litigation with emphasis in insurance coverage, complex contract, real estate and antitrust litigation. Her wide-ranging litigation experience has given her a strong appreciation for the needs of her clients, and an understanding of how to best achieve their goals.

Jessica utilizes her exceptional persuasive writing skills, strategic insight, and hands-on approach to litigation to represent her clients at all court levels, from conciliation court to the United States Supreme Court. Jessica’s appellate practice has included briefing to the Minnesota Appellate Court, the Eighth, Ninth and Eleventh Circuit Courts, and the United States Supreme Court.

Experience
  • Obtained dismissal of complaint against client in complex business torts case. Anthony P. Kiehn v. Martin Stein, et al., Case No. 12-cv-6554 PJH (N.D. Cal.).
  • Obtained summary judgment in favor of title insurer, eliminating exposure to damages because of claimed title defects, Glenwood State Bank v. Stewart Title Guaranty Company, Case No. 21-cv-2167.
  • Tried multimillion dollar insurance-coverage jury trial wherein the firm’s client sought insurance coverage for asbestos and environmental-contamination-related claims.
  • Conducted week-long jury trial in California state court wherein the firm’s client sought to prove missing insurance policies provided coverage for damage as a result of asbestos contamination.
  • Successful resolution on summary judgment of multimillion dollar title insurance dispute, Stewart Title Guaranty Co. v. M&I Marshall & Ilsley Bank, Case No. 27-cv-08-30265.
  • Extensive work briefing Plains Commerce Bank v. Long Family Land and Cattle Company, a case in which the U.S. Supreme Court found in favor of the firm’s client.
  • Lead counsel for pro bono client through the Federal Pro Se Litigant's Program and successful resolution of employment discrimination claim, Anderson v. U.S. Postmaster General, Case No. 10-cv-00629 DWF (D. Minn.).

You may use the wildcard symbol (*) as a root expander.  A search for "anti*" will find not only "anti", but also "anti-trust", "antique", etc.

Entering two terms together in a search field will behave as though an "OR" is being used.  For example, entering "Antique Motorcars" as a Client Name search will find results with either word in the Client Name.

Operators

AND and OR may be used in a search.  Note: they must be capitalized, e.g., "Project AND Finance." 

The + and - sign operators may be used.  The + sign indicates that the term immediately following is required, while the - sign indicates to omit results that contain that term. E.g., "+real -estate" says results must have "real" but not "estate".

To perform an exact phrase search, surround your search phrase with quotation marks.  For example, "Project Finance".

Searches are not case sensitive.
