Mavis Van Sambeek has over 20 years of experience advising clients on a broad range of trust administration and estate planning issues. She represents clients with high net worth, counsels corporate and individual fiduciaries, and advises beneficiaries. Mavis has developed technical expertise both from a planning perspective and with respect to administrative, audited, and litigated matters. She also works closely with investment advisors, family offices, financial planners, accountants and other professionals who also advise her clients.

Mavis is the creator and co-editor of the South Dakota Trust Law Deskbook, the only legal publication compiling South Dakota’s trust laws. Additionally, from 2010-2015 she served as a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association Probate & Trust Law Section Uniform Trust Code Committee, which worked to draft and secure passage of the Minnesota Trust Code.

Before joining the firm, Mavis was a judicial law clerk to the Honorable James M. Rosenbaum (ret.), United States District Court Judge, District of Minnesota.

Search Tips:

You may use the wildcard symbol (*) as a root expander.  A search for "anti*" will find not only "anti", but also "anti-trust", "antique", etc.

Entering two terms together in a search field will behave as though an "OR" is being used.  For example, entering "Antique Motorcars" as a Client Name search will find results with either word in the Client Name.

Operators

AND and OR may be used in a search.  Note: they must be capitalized, e.g., "Project AND Finance."

The + and - sign operators may be used.  The + sign indicates that the term immediately following is required, while the - sign indicates to omit results that contain that term. E.g., "+real -estate" says results must have "real" but not "estate".

To perform an exact phrase search, surround your search phrase with quotation marks.  For example, "Project Finance".

Searches are not case sensitive.
