Lindquist & Vennum product liability attorneys represent product manufacturers and sellers in all aspects of product liability defense and prevention, including defending claims involving death, serious personal injury, fires, property damage, and product recalls. Our attorneys have years of experience representing manufacturers and sellers of a variety of products, from consumer items to recreational vehicles to industrial equipment. We also provide prevention counseling and advice.

Lindquist attorneys have represented product manufacturers and sellers in all 50 states, Canada, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, South America, and Central America. We have tried dozens of product cases to verdict in state and federal courts and have defended our clients in administrative proceedings and ADR forums. If a case should be tried, we know how to win it. Because we also realize that sometimes even a successful conclusion at trial may not be the best outcome for our client, we evaluate cases early in the claim or litigation process and work with clients to achieve their goals. If settlement is the objective, we use our experience and diligence to get the best settlement for our clients. We also take advantage of current Daubert and spoliation case law to dispose of appropriate cases through dispositive motion practice.

We also provide claim and litigation prevention counseling and advice. For example, our product attorneys have created and implemented document creation and retention programs so that design, testing, and manufacturing processes comply with ISO standards and so that the process creates a paper trail to show that appropriate standards, testing, and evaluations were followed in the development of new products. We also advise clients in drafting and placing instructions and warnings, so that the written information regarding the safe and effective use of a product is most likely to be seen and followed. We have also helped implement fault tree analyses, including submitting prototypes to outside testing and evaluation facilities to help show that the manufacturer acted responsibly before introducing a new product to the market.

Liability Defense

Lindquist regularly defends regional and national business clients against all types of personal injury, wrongful death, and property damage actions, including those based on product liability, premises liability, and general negligence theories. We have handled such cases in nearly every jurisdiction across the country. We also provide proactive consultation in risk management, including assisting with development of safety handbooks and policies, product warnings, accident prevention, and investigation materials.

Our litigation experience encompasses every aspect of personal-injury and property-damage litigation, including developing a defense strategy; implementing the defense; and conducting trials, alternative dispute resolution and, in appropriate situations, reaching beneficial settlements for our clients. We strive to investigate matters quickly and efficiently, looking for early resolutions when possible and aggressively preparing for trial when that is the best defense.

Search Tips:

You may use the wildcard symbol (*) as a root expander.  A search for "anti*" will find not only "anti", but also "anti-trust", "antique", etc.

Entering two terms together in a search field will behave as though an "OR" is being used.  For example, entering "Antique Motorcars" as a Client Name search will find results with either word in the Client Name.

AND and OR may be used in a search.  Note: they must be capitalized, e.g., "Project AND Finance."

The + and - sign operators may be used.  The + sign indicates that the term immediately following is required, while the - sign indicates to omit results that contain that term. E.g., "+real -estate" says results must have "real" but not "estate".

To perform an exact phrase search, surround your search phrase with quotation marks.  For example, "Project Finance".

Searches are not case sensitive.
