Recent Projects
- Assisted a software supplier in planning and executing a foreign-distribution plan
- Assisted a manufacturer of automotive-related products and a manufacturer of agriculture-related products in restructuring their respective European, and then worldwide, distribution
- Helped a U.S. exporter achieve its goal of manufacturing high-tech products overseas while complying with U.S. laws on export of technology
- Advised on the successful structuring of letters of credit for the sale of heavy equipment to be sold to and installed for the government of a South American country with a difficult commercial history
- Developed the structure for and negotiated the sale or licensing of various new products and process technologies
- Established manufacturing and related subsidiaries of a U.S. company in Mexico and China; including intercompany agreements as required for capture of related tax benefits
- Successfully handled claims by a supplier concerning potential liability of the buyer with respect to imported commodities
- Advised a U.S. importer that had been subjected to incorrect import duties, and recovered improperly paid duties
- Worked with client to extricate itself successfully from a joint venture in China while retaining the benefits of intellectual property licensing
