Josh Natzel provides practical advice on employee benefit and executive compensation matters. Josh helps employers, third-party administrators, trustees, and employee benefit vendors understand and maintain compliance with ERISA, Internal Revenue Code, Affordable Care Act, COBRA, HIPAA and other related laws. Josh works with his clients in the design, creation and administration of retirement plans, health and welfare benefits plans, executive employment and severance agreements and nonqualified deferred compensation arrangements.
Before joining the firm, Josh was a teacher in Los Angeles, California and San Jose, Costa Rica.
Represented private equity funds in employee benefit matters related to corporate mergers and acquisitions.
Represented ESOP trustees in connection with the purchase of company shares by the ESOP.
Advised and developed strategies for a company in the restaurant industry to comply with the Affordable Care Act.
Drafted a phantom equity plan and change in control bonuses for a private company to provide long-term incentives to key employees.
Represented a manufacturing company in a 401(k) correction through the DOL’s Voluntary Fiduciary Correction Program.
Designed and drafted a health and welfare benefit wrap plan for a public company with multiple entities, locations and plans.
Corrected Code Section 409A failures in nonqualified deferred compensation arrangements for a medical device company.
Drafted an employee stock purchase plan for a technology company.
Negotiated recordkeeping and administrative services agreements for a financial institution.
Drafted a multi-state employee handbook and drug-testing policy for a national sales company.
