Bruce joined Lindquist & Vennum as a probate mediator in 2010 after serving 20 years as a well-known Hennepin County Probate/Mental Health Court Referee. In his role, he developed a reputation for efficiency and a hands-on case management style that is known for getting parties to reach a settlement. As a member of Lindquist & Vennum’s Trust and Estates practice group, Bruce mediates probate, trust, guardianship, and conservatorship issues for families and individuals in the seven county metro area as well as greater Minnesota.
Prior to his service on the bench, Bruce spent 23 years in private practice with a concentration in probate and trust administration as well as related litigation involving will contests, contested trust matters, and estate and gift tax audits. He also served as a St. Louis County judicial officer and probate registrar, serving as the trial court judge for the Elisabeth Congdon estate and trust litigation.
Bruce is a frequent public speaker and continuing legal education course leader. For 18 years, he trained guardians and conservators under the auspices of Volunteers of America (formerly under the Ebenezer Society).
