Dan Fritz has a unique understanding of the needs of individuals and businesses faced with litigation and has successfully guided numerous entities and individuals through the process. Dan’s understanding of the litigation process has been developed over the course of 26 years of practice as an attorney licensed in South Dakota and Minnesota and in several other states on a pro hac vice basis.

Dan began his practice in St. Paul, MN defending claims of professional malpractice against doctors, hospitals, attorneys and architects. His practice expanded with his move to South Dakota providing the opportunity to handle many different types of litigation. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury claims and insurance coverage disputes. Dan has also successfully represented clients in complex, multiparty business and commercial cases and has extensive experience in representing fiduciaries and beneficiaries in a wide variety of litigation involving trust and estate disputes.

Dan is also a qualified neutral under Minnesota Rule 114. Over the course of his career, Dan has successfully represented clients in numerous arbitrations and mediations, involving a wide variety of disputes ranging from personal injury cases and insurance coverage matters to complex business and commercial conflicts.

Experience
  • Represented the trustee in litigation concerning a multi-million dollar trust involving claims that certain trust document amendments were the product of a lack of competence and undue influence.

  • Represented a real estate development company in its Fair Housing Act claims against St. Bernard Parish in the New Orleans, LA area.

  • Represented an industrial equipment manufacturer relative to claims made against it for wrongful death allegedly caused by deficient product design and manufacturing.

  • Successfully mediated a dram shop and wrongful death claim in Minnesota on behalf of a young boy who lost his mother in a tragic accident.

  • Represented an entity in a matter involving cyber security claims resulting in a significant theft of funds.

  • Represent several businesses and fiduciaries in the planning to either strategically pursue or avoid litigation.

Search Tips:

You may use the wildcard symbol (*) as a root expander.  A search for "anti*" will find not only "anti", but also "anti-trust", "antique", etc.

Entering two terms together in a search field will behave as though an "OR" is being used.  For example, entering "Antique Motorcars" as a Client Name search will find results with either word in the Client Name.

Operators

AND and OR may be used in a search.  Note: they must be capitalized, e.g., "Project AND Finance." 

The + and - sign operators may be used.  The + sign indicates that the term immediately following is required, while the - sign indicates to omit results that contain that term. E.g., "+real -estate" says results must have "real" but not "estate".

To perform an exact phrase search, surround your search phrase with quotation marks.  For example, "Project Finance".

Searches are not case sensitive.
